So it would be pretty safe to say that the George, Jane, & Joseph the kids? As in James brother & Sister? How come dad (George) isn't listed under "household members" in that census?
and this is that same household from 1841...

Alexr Thomson abt 1829 Kincardineshire, Scotland Fetteresso Kincardineshire 258
Ann Thomson abt 1807 Kincardineshire, Scotland Fetteresso Kincardineshire 258
Ann Thomson abt 1828 Kincardineshire, Scotland Fetteresso Kincardineshire 258
Elspet Thomson abt 1832 Kincardineshire, Scotland Fetteresso Kincardineshire 258
George Thomson abt 1802 Kincardineshire, Scotland Fetteresso Kincardineshire 258
George Thomson abt 1834 Kincardineshire, Scotland Fetteresso Kincardineshire 258
James Thomson abt 1837 Kincardineshire, Scotland Fetteresso Kincardineshire 258
Joseph Thomson abt 1840 Kincardineshire, Scotland Fetteresso Kincardineshire 258
Ann & George x 2.....Mum, Dad & two kid's named the same? The rest kids?

Where did you get the census info from?

Cheers

Gives me both names of Williams & Mary Anns PARENTS not grandparents yeah......

Next to get would be George & Ann marriage if I can I think....that will take me up another level.

Hi Anihana,

That's a fairly typical OPR marriage record, I'm afraid. You do sometimes get a bit more information.

St Cyrus is or was a parish in Kircardine.

So where to next? I can't think of any way to get above George Thomson?

Is there any way I can find out in more detail who they worked for? I'm sure someone in the family mentioned the work as farmers AT A CASTLE?

Cheers

As the marriage took place in 1824 there is a decent chance that they lived till after statutory death registration in 1855.

I'd look for Ann's death first using both her maiden and married surnames. If you find that and she should either be shown as "Widow of" or "Married to". That might tell you a bit more about the years to search for his death..

Thanks again Mary.....where are you getting the census stuff from? Scotlands people?

I'm not so sure about the Naughty......everyone thought Bernie etc., bit hard to see Naughty in that you think?

I'm wondring if the Naughty lead is one to follow or not?

Cheers
