Yes, it was a great disaster. A local Author, Peter Aitchison has written a couple of books on the subject, one called Children of the sea. 2006 was the 125th Anniversary, and the town and surrounding villages held services to remember those who lost their lives. My husband had a very distant relation who perished on a Burnmouth boat
Sadly the Goverment has done a lot worse than the disaster, and we hardly have a fishing fleet left here in Eyemouth. Nough said.

I managed to get onto Geocities page where you can do your own page. Gave it a try, got a very simple one done, tried to open it AND can't even open my own Geocities page! I'm beginning to think they've been nobbled now.DavidWW wrote:Interesting, - I'm currently having a problem with another geocities www address that was fine on Saturday !

Just tried again Caraid, but still getting "page cannot etc..."
I'm with Blueyonder broadband. I've checked every security setting I can think of and there is no sign of Geocities being blocked. I certainly didn't set one up.
I dare say it will sort itself out in the end.

Sorry, David. I don't see the connection. Why does my being on Blueyonder affect my ability to access Geocities, bearing in mind that I've had BY for some time and have never had probs with GC in the past.

Agreed, - the connection, as I thought that that I'd made clear, - is that my broadband connection is also Blueyonder, and I can't access a Geocities site today that was quite OK on Saturdayemanday wrote:Sorry, David.
