I was looking through the posts for St.Cyrus and saw yours. I know it's a few months old but I found something that may help.
I have a copy, from the Church Records, of a census the minister did in 1798-1799.
At this time at Whitehill in the Parish of St.Cyrus was this familly.

James Thomson Labour
Mary Alexander Wife
William Thomson Children
Janice Thomson Children

There were four other famillies at Whitehill,
Alexander-Rae-Burness & Beattie

Interesting.....so if I were to link that with what I have so far I might think that could be George's mother, father, brother, and sister!?

I can't for the life of me work out hos to get past George & Ann. I can't find either of their BIRTH or Marriage records
