Hi,
I have a DC for an Elizabeth Fergus Paterson who died in 1955, her husband survived and was informant to her death. I can find no record of the marriage; his name appears to be Justian Saltonstall Dawbarn, occ Poultry farmer and formerly a BBC executive.

Hello Dennis,
FreeBMD
Births Sep 1890
Dawbarn Justin Saltonstall, Wisbech 3b572
LONDON TIMES 29 August, 1919
FORTHCOMING MARRIAGES
Major J. S. Dawbarn and Miss Paterson.
A marriage is arranged between Major Justin S. Dawbarn, M.G.C., younger son of Mr. Edmund Dawbarn, J.P., and Mrs. Dawbarn, of Hunstanton, and Elizabeth Fergus, only daughter of Mr. J. Keppie Paterson, J.P. and Mrs. Paterson, of Edinburgh.
But where and when?
Scotsman search for phrase ‘keppie paterson’ after 1916 gives a result of 8 Oct 1921, search for ‘edmund dawbarn’ brings up same 8 Oct 1921 date, as does ‘Justin Saltonstall’. Can't see the article but I can guess what it is about. Seems like a long delay.
I can’t see the marriage on SP but maybe it’ll need wildcards, if in fact it occurred in Scotland. Possibly it happened in some exotic location and was announced in the Scotsman.
At least that narrows it down.
Newspapers – love em.
Alan
