Age of informant at a death

Post by HeatherH » Tue Oct 30, 2007 9:41 pm

Hello all,
I remember in the past a topic on the age of an informant for a death. Does anyone remember if it was decided one way or the other that there was an age limit?
I have a Martin McNeilage died 1868 and the informant is his grandson Donald McKellar.
Martin's daughter Sarah McNeilage did marry a Donald McKellar and they did have a son Donald McKellar but he was only born in 1858. Wouldn't this be a wee bit young to be an informant to a death?
