Marriage of James McLeod & Jane Chalmers

Post by ColinWH » Tue Nov 20, 2007 8:25 pm

Good evening,
I'm trying to locate the marriage of the above couple, which we believe took place abt May 1844 in Pitsligo.
ScotlandsPeople don't appear to have any record, unless I'm looking in the wrong place - which his highly likely!
Does anyone have any other ideas for sources?

Thanks,

Colin

Hi Colin,

The online IGI shows an LDS submission for the marriage. No sign of anything extracted from the records.

JAMES McLEOD and JANE CHALMERS - Marriage: 23 MAY 1844 Pitsligo, Aberdeenshire

The online IGI shows three children. These are extracted from the records.

WALTER WERNHAM MCLEOD - Birth: 27 DEC 1850 Gamrie, Banffshire
WILLIAM MCLEOD - Birth: 01 Dec 1852, Christening: 16 JAN 1853 Pitsligo, Aberdeenshire
JAMES MC LEOD - Birth: 29 MAY 1856 Pitsligo, Aberdeenshire

All the best,

AndrewP

Hello Colin

I had some credits left on SP so decided to take a peek for your couple! Good news - there is a marriage for your couple on the OPR - it took place on 23rd May 1844 in Pitsligo. GROS Data is 233/0030 0107

Cheers
Christine

Ah, but, you included the important detail that I didn't - a GROS reference (ScotlandsPeople).

All the best,
