I can't read the names of his many wives, where he died in Lockee, nor what it reads as the informant after daughter. This is a re-scan.

Hi Dennis,

On searching ScotlandsPeople, I see the following marriages, which match what Anne found.

1864 - James Buist / Margaret Elder (no image available)
1904 - James Buist / Annie Winks or Mann (St Mary, Dundee)
1914 - James Buist / Helen Nicoll or Cuthbert (St Mary, Dundee)

My feeling us the wrong first name was given on the marriage certificate. There is a death in Lochee for Euphemia Elder or Buist in 1904. The list of children to James Buist and Euphemia Elder on the online IGI supports a marriage around 1864, probably after 9th July by the looks of the birth entry for the first child (both surnames).

The 1864 marriage, although in Dundee won't be found if you select Dundee or Angus - there is a problem with its indexing, which also ends out with the image not being available. If you want to prove (or discount) this marriage, then send a contact form to SP giving the GROS data and see if they can send you a copy (probably by e-mail) by them manually finding it. On the other hand, there is no sign of another suitable marriage on SP or the IGI. Another option is that the above marriage is not them and that they married outside of Scotland.
