Deciphering Help

Post by Pandabean » Mon Dec 10, 2007 8:33 pm

I have just found the death of one of my Great grandfather's brother whom I never knew existed until just now. Can anyone help me identify the cause of death?

I know its "Something" Pneumonia.

Thanks

Hi Andy

My guess is Catarrhal Pneumonia....

"Catarrhal pneumonia, or Broncho-pneumonia, is
inflammation of the lung tissue, associated with catarrh
and with marked evidences of inflammation of bronchial
membranes, often chronic; -- also called lobular
pneumonia, from its affecting single lobules at a time."

Best wishes
Jean

Hi Andy,

I'll go along with Jean's interpretation - Catarrhal Pneumonia.

All the best,

AndrewP

Hi Andy

That's Cataract. Opacity of a portion of the Cornea.

When its 'arrh' it is to do with the nose and 'orrh' as in haemorrhage is to do with blood loss.

Its all these Latin and Greek roots the medical folk loved.
