Hi Claire
The second one is quite clear in places...why don't you have a stab at both of them, post what you can make out and we'll try to fill in any of the blanks!

Best wishes
Lesley

Hello Claire,

Just a little help with your Livingstone's, Willam's, parents were married 03/June/1838. Girvan, Ayr.

There is only one birth that i can see registered for the couple, Elizabeth Livingston, born 29/Jan/1857. Dailly, Ayr.

Here is the family on the 1861 census index for Dailly, Ayr, including son William, aged 18 years.

Livingston Robert, age 50 years, born, Colmonell, Ayr,
Livingston Elizabeth, age 40 years, born Girvan, Ayr,
Livingston Janet, age 20 Years, born Dailly, Ayr,
Livingston William, age 18 years, born Dailly, Ayr,
Livingston Alexander, age 16 years, born Dailly, Ayr,
Livingston Robert, age 10 years, born Dailly, Ayr,
Livingston James, age 8 years, born Dailly, Ayr,
Livingston Hugh, age 7 years, born Dailly, Ayr,
Livingston Elizabeth, age 4 years, born Dailly, Ayr.

To see the full census you will get it on Scotlandspeople.

Regards,
Jonn.

Hello Claire,

When you are looking for the Hodge Family, you will have to be aware that this surname will have a few Alternatives, ie.

John Hodgeon, married Jane Smith, 06/June/1841, Girvan, Ayr.

There are three births at the moment i can find on the IGI.

Elizabeth Hodgeon, born 28/Aug/1842. Girvan, Ayr.
Jane Hodgeon, born 11/Aug/1844. Girvan, Ayr,
Archibald Hodgeon, born 19/July/1856, Girvan, Ayr.

This Elizabeth Hodgeon, born 1842. i think is the lady who married William Livingston, in 1864.

Regards,
Jonn.

I have David Hodge born Nov 1863
Thomas 1865 &
Agnes 1868.
Parents are Elizabeth McHarg( her mother Agnes McHarg or Quath)&Thomas Hodge Cotton Weaver.
The children were all illegitimate although Thomas is named as Father only on David's birth certificate.
All born/living Greenside Girvan on the 1871 Census(not Thomas)
Elizabeth is I think my GGGrandmother's sister/half-sister.
She is Robina McDowall-possibly McKinlay no birth found but living with
Elizabeth McHarg,
David McHarg
Agnes McHarg/Quath on the 1841 Census in Girvan.Cotton Weaver
Her Mother is either Agnes Quath(?) marriage or McHarg -Death and either Andrew or James McDowall as her Father.
Wondered if there was a connection?
