Just going over some old stuff and though i may as well post this small newspaper clipping containing some Obituaries circa 1899 (Clip awaiting approval). My gt gt grandfathers death is included on here and he died 26th September 1899 just to give some idea of exactly when this could have been.
Not much but it all helps !

Hello Tracey,
It’s interesting to see old newspaper clippings ‘in the flesh’ rather than the pure black and white images we see on the internet. That’s a good example of the typical effects of the acid content of newsprint. It almost burns the paper over time.
Have you been able to work out which Aberdeen newspaper it was from? The layout seems a bit unusual as most deaths columns have the surname first in alphabetical order. The Aberdeen Weekly Journal, which in fact appears to have been a daily paper by this time, has the alphabetical format.
Some of the deaths shown were also listed in the Aberdeen Weekly Journal at about the same time but I can’t see one there for William Gray.
All the best,
Alan

Hello Alan
I have no idea which newspaper it came from and its not something i thought about till now.
Out of the 100's of letters and other papers that my uncle had the only documents to have gone the same way are a 1950's death cert and a 1940s telelgram. The only way i could scan these letters to look like the did in the flesh was to place a King George VI 2d red stamp that was with the letters in the scanner or they just scanned like a b/w photocopy.
Still, the months of doing so was worth it.
