wullie gowans butcher in west calder

Hi

The butchers have been gone for a long time it belonged to Wullie and his wife Chrissie he also had a sister Ella and Jim Jervis also worked there. He also had sons Jim and George

What I was wondering is if he would be related to the Christina Gowans born 1863 in West Calder married to John Davidson. I dont know who his mum and dad were any help would be good

As some of these people may still be alive or may have died after the TS cut-off date of 1959 for deaths, if anyone does know about the more recent family, it would be best if any info was exchanged via PM rather than on the public forum. The only way I can think of finding out if there is a connection between the two familes, given that marriages and births would likely be after the SP cut-off date for downloading fully detailed entries, would be for you to spend some time in the ScotlandsPeople centre in Edinburgh or Park Circus in Glasgow where you would be able to see the full entries.

There is a marriage in Armadale, 1947, between William Gowans and Christina ?, on ScotlandsPeople.

As the 1947 marriage is after the cut off date (75 years), you will not be able to view it online. You can only view it by going to NRH or Park Circus.
