Hi Jerry,

There is a death certificate for one of them available on ScotlandsPeople for you. Search for the following and there is only one result.

Surname: Letham
Given name: Isabella
Other surname: Winning

The one result works out close in years to one of the births that you have found.

All the best,

AndrewP

Hi Jerry:

No death record found on IGI, or confirmation of which Isabel is the correct one, but there are records for their children.

Oh! Yeah! I can surely vouch for that

Followed the wrong Stewart line for months till I found a death that put me on the right track.

Hi Jerry:

It happens to all of us, with a few exceptions! I think you can't help but go off on a tangent, but it still gives you valuable information for questions that may pop up down the line.

There are many spellings of Isobel and Lethem, many of which you will find on the IGI, which may help you weed out a few more. The 'extracted' records are more reliable, as they have been taken directly (but not without some errors) from church records.

One advantage ScotlandsPeople has over the IGI is that it allows better options for both expanding and narrowing a seach, but the IGI can give a lot of options for you to try on ScotlandsPeople.

Hi Jerry,

This looks like the one from the IGI-

JOHN LETHEM

Marriages:
Spouse: JANET HENRIE
Family
Marriage:
16 OCT 1772 Glasgow, Lanark, Scotland

Unfortunately exact spelling is required when searching at NRH.

You should be able to look at the entry at SP.

Regards,
Annette
