Death certificate details confirmation, please?

Post by casserole » Sun Nov 07, 2010 3:49 pm

Hello Folks,

Still trying to sort out the tangle of my grandparents names/spellings.

My great grandmother died in 1918 and I have tried to look at her death certificate on Scotlandspeople. Unfortunately there is no image available.
All I want is confirmation of her parents names and the spelling that was used. In 1993 I ordered an extract of her death certificate and her mother's surname was not the same as in other records I have. I'm sure that the extract details will be correct but I have to eliminate the possibility that there is an error so that I can start looking in other areas to find the reason for the discrepency.

She is: Jane REIMER, date of death 16 October 1918, Glasgow

Can anyone help, please?

All the best,
Carole

Thank you so much, mb. I have been at this computer for hours looking at various records and I must have got that one mixed up with a later death. Off now to uncross my eyes! Must pay more attention before I post a message next time.

Thank you again. As I thought, no mistakes from the Record Office so it's back to the drawing board.

All the best,
Carole

The age of the deceased has been badly mangled by the informant, son John.

I've emailed GROS requesting that this be amended, - this will involve an RCE entry.

Hello mb,

Have you sent this reply to the wrong list member? My great grandmother didn't have a son John and her age at death is clear as a bell.

I'm losing the plot here and laughing my head off! If I could use the smily thing I would attach one.

Keep up the concentration, Alan, I will try to.

Greetings Carole.

Please accept my humble apologies. It was late after a very hectic day and I was catching up on TS. I had just cleared an email from mb who advised me NOT to send him jokes, when he had a hot coffee at his computer. I could not but wonder if I was the cause of his confusion, and could not resist the intrusion on your post.

Regards, Alan SHARP.

The request was for advance warning of any particularly good jokes, to ensure that I didn't have a mouthful of coffee when I open the email. Fortunately I don't take sugar any more, as that's a pain to clean up.
