Hello,
I'm kinda baffled by a marriage that took place in 1999 in Forfar, Angus. The GROS Data is the same in all 3 listings, the woman's name is the same in all 3 listings; however, the man's given name is the same in all 3 listings, but his surname is different in all 3 listings.

She married 3 men or just 1 with different surname?

Hi Dennis,
I expect the certificate will show 3 surnames the (one) groom was, or could have been, known by up to that time in his life.
I wouldn't be imagining the minister or registrar asking the bride if she takes these three men as her lawful wedded husbands.
All the best,
AndrewP

Hello Dennis
This is obviously far too recent an event to discuss names etc. but my guess with something like this would be that the man may well have changed his name a couple of times, and been known with different surnames e.g.
The chap was born to an unmarried mother; he is registered with her surname
The mother then marries; the child's surname is altered to that of his step-father
That marriage maybe does not last, or the step-father dies, the mother remarries and again, the child takes on the surname of his new step-father.
The above is only an example as to how this may have come about - there may be other explanations; some people change thier surname or first name by their own choice; as an example, perhaps the man was given the name of a step-father and preferred in later life to be known by his father's surname....
Best wishes
