Anthony Francis Patrick Gaskell?

I get queries from a mailing list for South Africa (and find stuff about my ggrandfather too).

Today there's a question:
"Does anyone know where I can find more information on my
great-great-grandfather, Anthony Francis Patrick Gaskell? According to the
family Bible, he was born on 22 December 1841 (no information about
parents), and died in 1931. I believe he was born in Aberdeen, Scotland.

He came to South Africa some time before 1880 because on 1 November 1880 he
married Frances Rosina Treasurer. They lived in Lusikisiki in the Eastern
Cape."

I and others have found nothing via Ancestry - does anyone here have any info about this man before he emigrated? - Alison
