JANET HOWIE MS MCNAIR
Looking for her birth records. She was born in Blantyre abt 1866 and married a Robert John Howie in 1833 in November. Her dads name was Archibold McNair. The only person that I can find around this time is a Janet Legget McNair born in Blantyre in 1866. Do you think this could be her?.

Hello,
That record can be found for free on familysearch.org and the father is indeed Archibald. Mother's name is Janet Eglinton-- is this correct as far as you know? If that seems right then you can download the full certificate at scotlandspeople.gov.uk
I hope that's a typo in the marriage date and she did not get married 33 years before she was born!
All the best,
Sarah

Hi jjlmary312
If she married after 1855, the marriage entry will give her parent names and you can find the correct birth based on that. A check on a post 1855 census would indicate a place of birth too. Have you seen either of these? (obviously if the marriage is indeed 1833, the parent names are not likely to be given...)
Best wishes
Lesley
Which date is correct - the birth or the marriage? She was born in Blantyre abt 1866 and married a Robert John Howie in 1833 in November
