She married a Archibald McNair in Nov 1883 in Blantyre. Could you please tell me the BOB for Archibald McNair and also the BOB for Janet Eglinton and if they had any children.
Thank you

Hi jjlmary312
You can do the detective work on this one - after all it is the "finding out" bit that is most of the fun of family history! If you download the 1883 marriage from Scotlandspeople if will tell you the age both gave at the time of marriage, so you can work out approx. years of birth. It will also give you the parent names that both parties gave at the time of marriage. Then check the census for 1891, 1901, and 1911...here you will find the places of birth which both gave, along with any children they may have had living with them on the census dates. You should then have enough clues to find the birth documents (approx year, place and parent names, so you will know you have the right one when you find it) of the couple and also of their children.
Come back to us if you have any problems finding any of these documents. But most of all, enjoy the chase!
Best wishes
Lesley
