Hi all - can you help in finding a Death Certificate.
William Simpson, a carter, drowned in the Clyde on December 23rd 1897. A report in the Herald on the 24th gave details, decribing the dense fog which led to a number of fatalities on the docks that day. But, for the life of me, I cannot find a Death Certificate - surely one must have been issued after retrieving his body from the water?
His details - William Simpson; age around 60 ( although the paper had him at 45!! ); born Ireland, married to Agnes Mills, residing at 21 Sydney Street. He was the son of William Simpson & Susan ( or Susannah ) Kennedy, both deceased.
I've tried all sorts of permutations, without success, to try and find a death record - so, I'm handing the job to you, the experts!!!!!!
Thanks - in anticipation

Hi Malki,
He is there, age 53, 1897 in Glasgow (Tradeston). And there is an RCE to shed a bit more light on the drowning stated on the death certificate.
All the best,
AndrewP
