He married Isabella (Isa) Nicol b 1934 and married on the 15 07 1929.

I think they had the following chidren - Andrew Reid about 1934 and Moria. Can anyone tell me the DOB for Andrew Reid and where he was born and also the DOD for him and if so where he died and alos if you have the information on Moria this would be appreciated. Thank you Caroline

If you go to ScotlandsPeople http://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk/searc ... index.aspx you can check for the births of both those children.

Using the advanced search, I entered Andrew Reid, male, born 1934-1934 and in the additional information box entered Isabella Nicol and there was one hit. It is a pay-as-you-go site which will accept your credit card.

I was unable to pinpoint Moira Reid, but did enter m* Reid, female, born 1929-1940 and in the additional information box entered Isabella Nicol and there were 17 hits. You may obtain a list of those 17 which might help you narrow down your search for the exact one.

As both of the dates of birth are in the 1030s. they are past SP's cut off dates (100 year closure on births), you will not be able to download the birth entries, but you can send for copies of birth certificates or visit the Scotlandspeople centre in Edinburgh or the Mitchell Library in Glasgow to view the complete entry. Also note that both these people may still be alive, so if anyone had any information please send a PM.

As these births are within the last 100 years, you won't be able to view their birth certificates online. Frances's advice above combined with whatever family knowledge you have may point to the most likely one(s) on the index which you can see on ScotlandsPeople for births within the last 100 years. The same principle applies to marriages within the last 75 years and deaths within the last 50 years. If you want copies of these certificates you have to be prepared to pay £12 for a legal extract of the certificates, or go to the ScotlandsPeople Centre in Edinburgh (or one of its outposts in Scotland) where you can view and write down the details, but not print, these 'modern' certificates.
