Hi Aodh,
Have you checked Annie McGhee Cairney, born 1897 Carluke?
And Agnes Taylor, born 1900 Shotts?
Both birth certificates are there on ScotlandsPeople.
All the best,
AndrewP

Re: Need help tracing two young girls
OK, so I looked up both births.
Annie McGhee Cairney was born March 13, 1897 at Whorleyburn, Carluke, Lanark Co. the daughter of Mary Cairney. I took this a step further and discovered she married a John Campbell, born about 1890 and a former resident of Turnbridge Wells, England, son of John Campbell and Waltina? Smith. The marriage record states he is a coal miner and a private with the 1st Batallion, Highland Light infantry.
Any suggestions on how I might track their descendants if they had any?
Regarding Agnes Taylor - born December 19, 1899 at Shotts, she is the illigetimate daughter of Margaret Taylor - no father named.

Re: Need help tracing two young girls
Hi Aodh,
As the censuses to show this couple and their family will be under lock and key for another decade or so, then the next place to look is the death certificates for John and Annie. With a name like John Campbell, he is likely to be a nightmare to find, but Annie should be easier found. Do you know if she stayed in Scotland all her days, or if she may have emigrated?
If you find her death certificate, then there is the chance that a child of theirs may have registered the death, and hence be named on that certificate.
All the best,
AndrewP
