Dickson.....

I've struck a brick wall in the Dickson line of my family, can anyone offer any assistance?

My father was William Wilson Dickson born 25/07/1921 he was married to Margaret Noble Reid.

William had 2 sisters I believe one was Georgina Dickson born 1926.

David Dickson b C1901 married to Agnes Meikle Moore b c 1904
David's parents were William Dickson b c 1880 and Georgina Wilson b c 1875.

Agnes may have remarried a David Betts (Bates ?) not sure of the spelling of the surname. So there may be more children?

William's parents were Robert Dickson b c 1854 and Margaret Murray b 1858. Robert was born in Falkirk I believe.

Any assistance would be very much appreciated.

Robert and Margaret's marriage cert shuold be on SP that will name both set of parents and whether they were alive at the time of marriage.

That's given me another name in the sister Agnes - that's great

pardon my ignorance - but what do you mean by SP? in regards to the marriage cert?

Hi,
Scotlands People is the online service for BMD in Scotland. It has online Stautory Registrations from 1855. You can acsess this service & search for Births 1855-1904 Marriages1855-1929 & Deaths 1855-1954.It also has some Old Parish Records which covers the period before Stat.Reg. although you cant view the OPR online you can for a modest fee see images of original BMD entries.
It is a easy site to use once you get the hang of it. If you have approx.dates,areas,names it cuts down on your possibiles & will save you time & money.
