My ancestor's were Hugh Bain was born circa 1802 and married Margaret Williamson on 19 May 1823 Irvine in Ayrshire. Margaret Williamson was born circa 1805 either Scotland or Ireland (conflicting information on her). I am trying to find both of their birth/christening dates and where born, and also their parents and any siblings names. Hugh Bain and family are on the 1841 census at Shewalton Colliery in Dundonald Ayrhsire but on the 1851 census, Margaret Bain is a widow.

Also looking for Hugh Bain's death date. I know that Margaret Bain (nee Williamson) died 29 Nov 1891 in Dreghorn in Ayrshire. I have found her on all the census records leading to her death.

Any help would be greatly appreciated on this pair.

Anne christened 9 Oct. 1836 Dundonald, Ayr
Fanny born 14 May and christened 23 May 1824 Irvine, Ayr
Hugh christened 26 May 1829 Irvine
Janet born Sept. 1826 Irvine
Margaret 5 July 1833 Irvine

You day you have Margaret's death date, do you have her death certificate?
That should give her parents' names (if they were known to the informant), and will help
Look for a possible birth.

Hi,

Margaret died at Dreghorn Village, Ayr, on November 29, 1891. The death record only lists her father's name as William Williamson (coalminer). No mother's name listed. Death record was signed by son Hugh. He probably didn't know his grandmother's name.

I do have death cert for Margaret Bain which shows William Williamson. But nothing else. So nice of you both to look for me. I was hoping to find out her husbands birth/death; parents and any siblings. Same for Margaret, her birth; parents and any siblings. Can't seem to pick it up anywhere.
