Yay, one of my distant grandfathers had the grace to die in 1855. (hope that's not sacrilegious, but the information is wonderful !)
I need help please, with the parish, village, etc where he was born in Ireland. Also, occupation, I can tell the first word is Thatcher, because he was in the 1851census, but the second word ?

It listed by name and age his 10 children, some of whom weren't in census with family.
Thank you for any assistance.

Hi Cathy,
I think his occupation was Thatcher or Labourer; and that he was born in Enniskillen, County Fermanagh, Ireland; 40 years in Girvan.
All the best,
AndrewP

Thank you Andrew. Now on to Irish records - at least it is narrowed down a bit.

I agree with Enniskillen, Co. Fermanagh, and I think his occupation is a thatcher's labourer.
Researching: Easton ( Renfrewshire, Dunbarton and Glasgow), Corr (Londonderry and Glasgow), Carson (Co. Down, Irvine, Ayrshire and Glasgow), Logan (Londonderry and Glasgow)
