I looked for his wife's death.

Annie Marshall or Wright died in 1963 aged 67 in Springburn [644/4 63]

I checked all the Annie's who died in Springburn that year and only Wright & Marshall match, so she hasn't married again,
if James did die before her.

I was hoping a remarriage would have pinned a rough date for you - but then again maybe he didn't die young after all, I would check her DC and see what it throws up.

Hi Wilma,
Thanks for that - I have printed it out she was a widow and died at 123 Balornock Rd in 1963 (usual address 19 King St Glasgow). It says she died of cerebolvascular accident, I assume that was a hospital in Springburn. I got carried away and found a James Wright who died in Springburn in 1961 age 68 which fits in with his birth. Alas,it's not him. I should have checked Annie's death first. Good news is the witness was her son J Wright of 147 Stevenson St Glasgow.
Thanks,
Ailsa

That would have been Stobhill Hospital on Balornock Road.
Good you found the next generation too - though he's probably another James.

Ailsa,

Try the death notices in the Glasgow Herald. They are on the last page.

https://news.google.com/newspapers?nid= ... page&hl=en

Or the Glasgow Evening Times. Towards the end of the newspaper.
https://news.google.com/newspapers?nid= ... page&hl=en

To proceed click on “browse this newspaper”. Let me know if you need help.

Hi Alan,

Thanks for the links - I found her in the Evening Times and another lead to a daughter Wilma M ! Couldn't see anything in the Herald but many thanks for looking.
