Would some kind person be able to view parish records of marriage of the following couple please.

Thomas Scott & Mary Little Married 25/04/1840.

Thomas would have been age 37 yrs Mary 19 yrs.

Occupation of Thomas /Saddler/journeyman.

In 1851 they lived @ 4 High Street Parish Dumfries

I am looking for name of Thomas`s father Thomas born England
Mary Dumfries

Hello and welcome Teresa,

Have you tried searching the 1871 census on SP for Thomas and Mary?

I ask because I think Mary was a widow by 1881 and if Thomas was still alive in 1871 it would narrow a search for his death entry which would hopefully show his parent's names.

Hi Annette.

I received a reply to posting as above yesterday.

I cannot remember receiving your reply, this may have been because I was having problems with my old pc. ( I now have new one )

I have lost a lot of my records relating to my ancestors and I remember at the time I was "searching" I hit a brick wall and went off to search on other side of family.
You mentioned I should search 1871 census. Will give it a try.
I was trying to link up Thomas Scott with father Thomas Scott from Tynemouth Northumberland.
