Hi,
Finally, after the third attempt I managed to upload a birth certificate to the gallery.

When approved, could someone please tell me what it says under the word "Illegitimate". I thought someone started to write illegitimate again but when I enlarged it it looked like it might be J Lynch. If it is, do you think that might be the father...although I'm kind of hoping it isn't since her name should be Hearty or Harty. Thanks for any help.
Regards,

Looks to me like a set of intials, - I'd suspect those of the superintendant Registrar.Anne H wrote:Hi,

But why the informant, the mother's maiden name isn't written in there is open to question. It only the second year of registration, though...............

Could be, but that would be unusual, - more likely to be his initials, if that's what it is........JayPee wrote:Could it be the abbreviation "Supt"?Montrose Budie wrote:Looks to me like a set of intials, - I'd suspect those of the superintendant Registrar.
