death records.....
I am searching for a record of death that may have happened after 1955. Probably between 1955-1965. Is it possible to find this or are the records sealed after 1955. Thank from Canada!

Hi Tracyann
The records are not sealed but they are not available to view online.
If you know the date you could send for the death cert

Hello Tracyann
It sounds like you're unsure of an exact date for the death record you seek. I didn't want you to feel those were the end of your options!! If you know someone in Edinburgh that could visit New Register House, a search of the records could be made and a transcription obtained. If you don't happen to have any friends in Scotland willing to work for free.....well....you could always hire a researcher
. It will be a long time waiting for each year to tick off so that another year's records are available online
Since a researcher is usually cheaper than a plane ticket....I've always opted for that route
Best wishes
Jean
