Statutory name change.....

I have come across a birth record from February 1891 which has a note at the side of the entry stating that "alteration of child's name see Reg. of [unreadable] Vol.I p.7 2 June 24th 1891". The entry does not state what the child's name was amended to. Does anyone know how I can find this, if possible online?[/i]

The full entry in the referenced entry in the Register of Corrected Entries should provide the info that you require.

Images of the RCEs should come on line sometime during 2006.

Meantime, you will need to visit New Register House, or get someone to do so on your behalf, in order to establish the detailed info in the RCE entry ......

Hi I will be at NRH next week & one of my jobs is to look up all the RCE's in my line-there are about four so one more will make no difference to me.I am sure the STAFF will love me!
