Can anyone tell me what 'Second Consent' on a marraige certificate means?
On my GG Grandparents marraige certificate, second consent is noted under the brides status (spinster).
Anyone any ideas?
Christine.

Hi David and Annette,
Many thanks for your replies.
David,
I would love to add it to the gallery , but how? I'm afraid I'm not very technically minded
.
Annette,
It's funny you should mention the possibility that they were cousins. I found the cert on SP a few years ago and I read the entry as 'second cousins'. I was quite happy with this until recently, when I made contact with a descendant of the brides family. He had just been to Edinburgh, seen the original entry, and is convinced it says 'Second Consent'. I have had the magnifying glass on it numerous times, and to be perfectly honest, I'm just not sure.
If you can tell me, step by step, how to put it on the Gallery, I will.
Many Thanks,
Christine.

Try this:
You have to be logged in and then.....
Click on Gallery (above)
Click on upload file
Click browse
This takes you to your computer where you should find the image you want to upload.
Double click on the file.
Click on continue - Your file is now uploaded.
I think you then have to wait for approval from TSAG who will post it in the gallery.
Good luck,
Annette M
