Now that I've finally mastered the gallery I have uploaded another cert.Death cert.of John Ballantyne.

After the terrific help I got from all you masters, with my last query,I was wondering if anyone could make out the informants surname.
Thanks again for your help.

If John had a sister Janet Wilson Ballantyne who married James Aberdein in 1897 then that's who reported John's death.
Searching for Keogh, Kelly, Fitzgerald, Riddell, Stewart, Wilson, McQuilkin, Lynch, Boyle, Cairney, Ross, King, McIlravey, McCurdy, Drennan and Woods (to name but a few).
Also looking for any information on Rathlin Island, County Antrim, Ireland.

This has to be the most modern register entry on which I've seen these forms of "d" and "e", which, in fact are near enough Secretary Hand styleLesleyB wrote:Hi Jinty & Jean
Could easily be James Aberdein as stated, some of the letters have an almost Greek style to them - Aberδεin

Is the signature not the informant's own handwriting rather than the George Russell's (Assistant Registrar).DavidWW wrote:This has to be the most modern register entry on which I've seen these forms of "d" and "e", which, in fact are near enough Secretary Hand styleLesleyB wrote:Hi Jinty & Jean
