Missing or Mis-spelt names Edinburgh Births.....

How do I find the following name.
TATCH
I have three Births that I know occurred in Edinburgh, Newington area 1898 /1901/1902 but cannot find them on S P.

I imagine that the name has been mis-spelt as the parents came from Europe and would have had difficulty with English Language.
I have tried variations on name etc;
Two appear on 1901 Census along with Parents.
Any ideas please ?

1 1904 TATCH SHOLAM M NEWINGTON EDINBURGH CITY/MIDLOTHIAN 685/05 0524

The family are listed in the 1901 Census. It's possible that they weren't aware of that they had to register the other births, I can't see Max anywhere.

How did you arrive at Tatch? Was this the name as given on the 1901 Census?
If you are certain of your facts try e-mailing SP with your dilemma & they may be able to offer some assistance.As my Granny would say"If you don;t ask you don't get"

Rachel the other daughter was born in Russia abt 1897.

Thanks Joette & Andy,

The TATCH name is what they were known as in UK and USA as somewhere along the way (mostly likely in Edinburgh going by the data ) the name was altered.
I found them under the TATZ name.
All 3 are there in Edinburgh although 2 are in Cannongate !

What I was trying to establish was when the parents married,I knew where.
One is actually MIS-SPELT on search as ELIZA when it should be ELIAS ,so how do I go about having this altered ?
Max appears to have been named Marcus!
I now need the 1906 Births to appear ??? so I can find some more family.

Consistently August 1893 in Kovno, Russia (now Lithuania I think)
