Please don't laugh, but years ago my great grandaunt Gertie Mitchell told me some great yarns about the family in Scotland - none of whom she had ever met, but she was a great story teller
Anyway, one of her stories was about a relative who was a piper and who continued to play when injured so his comrades could go to war! Great story and I never paid any heed and yet...! Just today I found the story of George Findlater on the Gordon Highlanders site. I've got his death certificate from Scotlands People and it doesn't look promising but the quality is poor so would someone take a look at it and tell me what can they see - wife and mother in particular. I've uploaded it to the gallery - I think - if anyone in Admin sees this going through they might put in the name for me - I definitely don't know how to do that!

Hi Jean,
I can't see anything in the gallery which allows me to add the file! - Am I losing it?!

Hi Tish
Nope not losing it. If you have downloaded the file from SP and saved it on your hard drive and given it a recognizable name (preferably in TIF format) then just click on Gallery link above. The click on "upload file" from the listings in blue under the title at the top of the page. Then request how many uploads you want (type in 1) and then click continue. Now browse to the location in your computer where the TIF file is located and then when it's location is in the box click continue. You'll get a message telling you if the upload was successful. (I think..going on memory here!!) At some point you'll need to select a place in the gallery to post the image to but that is easy...just choose the Difficult Handwriting one (or whatever it's called
) Once it's uploaded successfully we'll approve it and place the link in your post.
See if that helps.....come back and yell at me if it doesn't
Best wishes
Jean

You'll be having a lie down in a darkened room then
I'm so glad it's not just me that misses the obvious - I argued black was white with an IT person at work recently before discovering my problem was because I was not logged in to the network but only to my desktop
Felt about 2 inches high after my rant ...

Hi Tish
Just to further un-confuse you
........I've been told by very reliable people that I've complicated the upload instructions to the ordinary member. You won't even have a choice of how many files to upload...you only get 1 automatically
.......See.....even us Admin people need help
!
Best wishes
