Can anyone help at all for us people down south?
We are trying to find a marriage between a couple who the rumour says, ran away to get married. Possibly Gretna.
They were from London.
James Cox(c1896)
May Georgina C Reading(c1906).
Not sure when they married but as they ran away to do it she was possibly very young. Theyre not in the Ancestry BMD's.

Hi Mark
Sorry but there's no listing that matches your info occuring in the Statutory records through 1930 as accessed online at Scotlands People. If their marriage was truly an irregular one then it's possible it was never recorded or perhaps it was recorded after 1930. I'm assuming they returned to England after the fact? If they had remained in Scotland and had a child born and registered then a Scottish BC should list a date of the parents marriage.
Sorry for not being more helpful...
Best wishes
Jean
