Marriage of William Oswald and Isabella Ferguson (registered in both Cumbernauld and in Falkirk according to the IGI - both extracted from the records) June 1856 (different dates in each parish). If that is true, then there should be 2 marriage certificates on ScotlandsPeople for this couple (the other may be more legible).

I make the parents to be:
John Oswald - Iron Moulder (deceased)
Ann Oswald - Maiden Name Ure (deceased)
Robert Ferguson - Agricultural Labourer
Janet Ferguson - Maiden Name Murphy (deceased)

There are matching births and marriages to be found on the IGI (extracted and submissions).

I agree with Andrew. The IGI lists six children born to John Oswald and Ann Ure including an Alexander who was probably a witness to the marriage of William and Isabella:
