Huvin' a Wee Bit o' Bother

Post by Miss Poohs » Wed Oct 04, 2006 11:15 pm

Now - I am utterly convinced I did at some point find Thomas' death cert, but I'll be blowed if I can find it now.

Can anyone here get me back on the straight and narrow?

I'm after the death cert of Thomas Hislop - he was married (at the age of 19) in 1884 to Sarah Bonnar.

They appear on the 1891 census with their family, after that he disappears.

On Sarahs death cert in 1913 she is stated as the "widow of Thomas Hyslop" so by 1913 he would already be dead.

Where'd he go to? :?
Beveridge, Bonnar, Burns,Candlin, Colquhoun, Dewar,Graham,Hislop,Jackson & Robertson.
Martin & Nelson - all Liverpool
Allison, Beaton, MacLean, McLuskie & Todd.
Grant, McEwan, McLean & Syme.

Hello Miss Poohs,

My credits are locked up over on SP at the moment, otherwise I'd do a lookup for you.

Visit the link at the top of the page to find Scotlandspeople.

You'll be able to reduce your search results, if you include a "District"

Using wildcards, I found

Thomas H**lop
d. 1884-1913
District: All

7 matches on 1 page

Thomas Hislop
d. 1884-1913
District: All

4 matches on 1 page

Thomas Hyslop
d. 1884-1913
District: All

2 matches on 1 page

Hi Miss Poo,

I've also got Hislops and have found them back to Ireland. My name changes from Hislop, Heslip, Hyslop then back to Hislop so maybe bive "lip" a try.

Cheers

Stuart
