Harvey Brooks.....

Hi, I am looking for help in finding out any information about a Harvey Brooks, Harvey was born in 1887 in Glasgow. his parent,s were John Harvey Brooks and Margaret Jane Mason, Margaret died and John Harvey remarried an Elizabeth johnston at one time the family lived at 142 Millburn st Glasgow.Any help most welcome.

Have you tried a death search? Looks to be two who were born around 1887, one of whom died in Lanarkshire on Scotlands People in 1886. There can't be that many Harvey Brooks - wouldn't be surprised if the two are related somehow. Perhaps the 1886 death is Harvey no.1 who died as a child. The abt. 1887 one could be Harvey no.2 to the same family? The other one died in 1900.

A rather sad tale.

Harvey and his first wife have a child Harvey, who dies only a few months old.

A later child to the couple is also Harvey, and he most probably dies as a teenager in an "Imbecile Institution", but no parents' names shown.

After the death of his first wife Harvey remarries (her surname wasn't MASON BTW) but she dies only a few years later .............

It does indeed look like a sad tale - thought those two must have a connection. (wisnae looking, no credits!) Poor chap - its always sad when you see that kind of pattern, even if you don't know them, you can really feel for them.

HI, thanks for the replies, it seems to be the same brooks family,Harvey that married Margaret Mason,remarried an Elizabeth Johnston,after Margaret died and Elizabeth died before Harvey,i dont know the date of her death yet.The other Harvey is the son,i couldnt find any records of him.Could you please tell me the institution that Harvey junior died in so that i can follow the lead from there. thanks again for the information.

Hi Flora

The second young Harvey died in the "Imbecile Institution, Larbet", in 1900.

Given that the informant was a Senior Attendant but didn't have any info on the names of the parents of young Harvey, it's questionable just what info might be available from any extant records that have survived from this Institution.
