Hi Jan
..and a warm welcome to Talking Scot :D
Your request falls just ouside the dates which are available to download on Scotlands People ( www.scotlandpeople.gov.uk )- where you can see births up to 1905. So either you would need to contact GROS directly, www.gro-scotland.gov.uk , go to General Register House yourself, ask a friend or relative to go there for you or ask a researcher...or wait until January 2007 when the 1906 births will become available online.

Best wishes
Lesley

Hello,

If she wasn't born till 1906 then you will not be able to find it online till next year.

Are you positive about the year because there is a Mary Winifred Thomson born 1903 indexed on Scotlands People?

Hi Jan

Welcome to the forum! Not sure where you're located but that will undoubtedly affect the choices you are about to make!!!

The record you're seeking is unfortunately just outside the online limitations on the Scotlands People website (link button at top of this foruom). As of right now we can only search and veiw online digital images of Scottish birth records beginning in 1855 and continuing to the end of 1905. Good news is that you have an exact date and a name!! This enables you to obtain a certified copy of the birth record direct from GROS. Visit their website and follow the directions there. http://www.gro-scotland.gov.uk/famrec/h ... flet2.html

There are also two other options....the first is to wait until the first part of 2007 when another year will be added to the online databases...and then you will be permitted to purchase a view and print or transcribe the record from your home computer.......or.......if you are in or near Edinburgh or know someone who is then a personal visit to New Register House....or actually a visit to Park Circus in Glasgow too will permit viewing the record there and taking a transcription or ordering a copy.

Hope this is helpful

Best wishes
Jean

ps....had a phone call and my typing got put on hold....looks like you've already received all the good advice you need! Good luck......
