Hi Flipside
...and a warm welcome to Talking Scot :D

The virtual Mitchell has a good selection of old photographs, but not the areas you are looking for I don't think..

There is a wee bit about Merry's Rows here:

Hamilton Home seems to be here:

Best wishes

Many thanks Lesley

I may have posted in the wrong section :>

The Hamilton Home i think was rebuilt on the same location as the the combination poorhouse. I can remember walking up the path as small child,

I have been unable to find photographs for any of these places

Thanks for the web site address for mining villages. I hadn't seen it before, but found the death of a relative in the Inspector of Mines report for 1875.

Murray's Rows

Hi Flip,

I have uplifted what is probably the only known photograph of the rows to the gallery.

It's not the best picture you'll ever see but it will give you some idea of what it was like.

To give you a better perspective, I have also uplifted a picture of the last remaining house in Dixon's Rows, Blantyre, which was exactly the same type as those shown in the Murray's Rows picture.
