Help with an OPR birth record please.
The record is for JAMES MARTIN born 1st February 1778 in St.Cyrus,
Gros Data Code 267/00 0001.
I have already got a copy of this record from GROS which turned out to be a statement made by his mother to a Justice of the Peace in 1814 saying that he was in fact born on this date and who the father was.
My question though is, when you do the search on Scotlands People using the above codes there are two entries for this code, both exactly the same. Does anyone know if this is just a duplication in the input or whether it is likely to be two different records for the same birth?
I don't want to order another extract just to find it's the same as the one I already have.

Hi Roy,
As they share the same index number, the implication is that they are for the same record, or two separate entries on the same page. The only way to know for sure is to wait until the images come online (in the next few months?) with, I believe, a revised index. Then you will see if there are still two identical results or not. If there are two identical results, then if you purchase one of them, the other should be marked as paid after you purchase the first one.
All the best,
AndrewP
