Birth record - Peter McConnachy

Does anyone have access to the birth record of Peter McConnachy.

I believe he was born in 1842 in Peterhead, Aberdeen. He was the son of John and Mary McConnachy.

Peter became a shipwright and moved to Australia in the 1870's - mattying in 1877 in South Australia.

I would like to confirm his birth date as there are inconsistencies with his marriage record and death record here in Australia.

I have found no record of him coming to Australia either but I believe he came in the early 1870's.

I looked for Peter's birth on Family Search, and couldn't find it there. I had a few credits left and tried to look for it on SP. There seems to be a problem with SP at the moment, because all I got was a screen telling me that the OPR images weren't available.

Maybe someone else can do a better job helping you than I was able to.

Have you tried a search on the IGI and/or Scotlands People for his birth?
If you find any likely record you could view it in the OPR - they are on microfilm. Not sure where you are based, but if not in Scotland, you can order any OPR films from any LDS centre.

As far as I'm aware none of the OPR images are available to view yet on Scotlands People... it is in the pipeline.

I know that the images for OPR's aren't available. It is just that when I tried to search OPR's for births, all I got was a screen telling me that they weren't available, instead of the usual search screen. I guess that I didn't make myself very clear.

Maybe I am still not making myself very clear.

Thanks - I guess I am really just trying to determine what Peter's actually birth date was. I believe it was 1842 but not sure of the actual date.

I don't suppose anyone has had any luck with the actual birth date of Peter McConnachy in 1842? His wedding certificate indicates it could be 1846 but the 1841 and 1851 census on FreeCen indicates it is 1842. Has anyone been able to find out any more?
