I have just uploaded an image of a death cert. for an Alexander Bryce, and I would like some ones opinion , It does not have any parents info on it, but I’m not sure if it looks like it’s just very faint or it is missing all together, and if it is worth contacting SP about it

Thank you

Re: missing parents
I'm near certain that the section is blank.thomsos wrote:I have just uploaded an image of a death cert. for an Alexander Bryce, and I would like some ones opinion , It does not have any parents info on it, but I’m not sure if it looks like it’s just very faint or it is missing all together, and if it is worth contacting SP about it

What appears to beb faint marks is "bleed through" from the other side of the page.
You may occasionally have seen something similar when making a photocopy of a two sided document when the light from the photocopier and the thickness of the document means that traces of the print on the other side can be seen, - same here from the original microfilming process.

Even when the OPR images do come online later this month, there is no guarantee that the parents will even be mentioned, but keep your fingers crossed - you might be lucky

Hello thomsos
Do you know where ALex was born? What is stated as place of birth from the 1851 and 1861 census for him? Do you know where he and his wife married? All info could help narrow up a likely area of birth. Searching the IGI might turn up some likely birth prospects. Also consider naming patterns. Do you know all the offspring of Alex? Sometimes an unusual christian name can point to an earlier generation's mother's maiden name...or follow a predictable pattern which can virtually pinpoint the correct parents. It's truly an inexact science with much relying on survival of OPR records....but still it might be possible to make some progress.
Best wishes
Jean
