Hi Dennis

The father's name looks to me like Dugald. Since the marriage was in 1881 I checked the 1881 census. Based on address I would have to assume these are her parents and siblings:

Dwelling: 21 Preston St
Census Place: Govan, Lanark, Scotland
Source: FHL Film 0203673 GRO Ref Volume 644-11 EnumDist 106 Page 5
Marr Age Sex Birthplace
Dougald STEWART M 61 M Glasgow, Lanark, Scotland
Rel: Head
Occ: Sailor
Janet STEWART M 56 F Lanark, Scotland
Rel: Wife
Occ: Wife
Alexander STEWART U 32 M Lanark, Scotland
Rel: Son
Occ: Marine Engineer Unemployed
Abigal STEWART U 16 F Glasgow, Lanark, Scotland
Rel: Daughter
Occ: Timekeeper

Using the IGI to search for a birth of Janet Stewart there is only one that fit my parameters:

01 JAN 1857 Tradeston, Glasgow, Lanark, Scotland

Parents:
Father: DUGALD STEWART
Mother: JANET FORREST

I'm guessing the correct maiden name is Forrest.

Best wishes,
Jean

Without having read Jean's post past the IGI entry, I'd come to the concludion from looking at the image that the surname is FORREST.

Andrew, Jean, & David; thank you all very much for the help in reading that document. A question has arisen from the info that Jean posted, and it has to do with Alexander. The only one I can find around the guessed dob of 1849 was to parents Donald Stewart & Janet Forrest. I am wondering if Donald was another name for Dougal/ Dugal.

Thank you all, denis

Consider those names as possibly, but only possibly, interchangeable !
