Hi and a warm welcome to TalkingScot
You certainly have started with an interesting name to follow up.
I took a quick (free) look on Scotlandspeople usingn their surname check and it came up with 3 deaths for the surname SCARRAMUZZA in Scotland between 1922 and 1942
1 in 1922-23
1 in 1925
the third in 1942
So they did not all die at the same time.
I assume this is the deaths you were looking for and I would guess that they are all part of the same family in the same area.
I think you may perhaps be having problems with the spelling of names. I would expect the search to come up with the children's records even if you only put in surname and gender since the name is so unusual.
I used your spelling of the surname.
You should also narrow down the dates for your search.
Hope this helps

Back again
Checking on Scotlandspeople prior to 1920 gives only 1 marriage. This probably means the family did not come to Scotland until after WW1.
Perhaps the children died before the family came to Scotland and would not therefor appear in the Scottish records.

Yes , knew of the three entries for Scaramuzza deaths,Charles and Catherine had same parents my gran and grandad, their nephew Peter Scaramuzza b 1918 glasgow died burma 1942 and was the brother of Anita and Helen-Rose. I wasnt allowed access to Peters death cert at Park Circus due to AF(armed forces) prefix??
Have a photograph of Anita and Helen-Roses family dated 1924 Glasgow
http://family.webshots.com/photo/286893 ... 0342YeHkRT
Could the childrens deaths have been registered in their mothers maiden name Barbieri?,also understand there was an epidemic of entiritis deaths in Glasgow 1920's due to living conditions in the east end of the city.
Only recently found Alfred B Scaramuzza's 1916 birth record as it was mistranscribed Scarmuzza in Glasgow records.

Hi again
I've been trying to think of the best way to use wildcards to pin down the name.
I tried every combination I could think of and came up with nothing, either for births or deaths in the whole of Lanarkshire.
I get the feeling that there may have been a serious case of mistranscription.
Perhaps SKS with access to Ancestry may be able to locate them on their first names and location ?

Any death which was sudden, violent, unexpected, or where there had been no regular medical attendant before death, should have been reported to the Procurator Fiscal (think District Attorney). His report on the situation, copied to the registrar, was termed a precognition.
found this entry in the forum is there any way i can check for my family names with the 1920's procurator fiscal?

Nope!, as the records are unlikely to have survived, - but check with National Archives of Scotland. Even if you're lucky, it's unlikely that the records could be accessed via surnames, as opposed to dates of referrals to the PR.daddymuzza wrote:http://talkingscot.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=8129

Peter's death record is available on www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk on a pay per view basis. Perhaps at the time you sought it in Park Circus, these images had not been made available online. The only point to note is that it is a Service Return and not a death certificate, so you won't find details about the parents or the like. It will be a summary list of names (maybe a dozen or so on one page), ranks, service numbers, dates and approximate places of death, ages, and a minimal cause of death (such as killed in action).daddymuzza wrote:Yes , knew of the three entries for Scaramuzza deaths,Charles and Catherine had same parents my gran and grandad, their nephew Peter Scaramuzza b 1918 glasgow died burma 1942 and was the brother of Anita and Helen-Rose.
