Minimum age to marry

Post by djcrtoye » Thu Mar 01, 2007 12:49 pm

Was there ever a minimum age to get married in Scotland, before the age of 16 came into law. I ask because I found a rellie of my wifes' was married at 15 in the mid 19th century. Thanks

If I remember correctly from another post, until 1929 it used to be 14 for a boy and 12 for a girl.
