Hello All,
Last year I found the death certificate of Ann Macrae. I now upload it in the Gallery to see what anyone else makes of it. A good image, no problem there but it makes no sense. Here is the problem. The deceased is a Widow, no mention who she was married to.
The informant is her son, b. 1826. His parents were Donald Macrae and Ann Macrae (the couple with two marriage records in the IGI)?
The problem is the "Parent's Names" Ann Macrae and Donald Macrae which the Registrar filled in? I could not prove who Ann's parents were, the only Ann & Donald Macrae I can find is in the 1700's.
This is Duncan's parents, of which Ann is the deceased?

Maybe someone has another answer?

Hi Lizzie,
Have you tried searching on here http://freecen.rootsweb.com
There are several Families with the names you are looking at in the area of Glenshiel on the 1841 Census.
If you go by Ann's age on D C as born around 1800, I looked at some who also had a Duncan in the household around the 14-16 age.
Hope it helps.
Cheers,
