Where is the death record?

Colin Gilmore b02/07/1780 Barony married 01/12/1811 to Isobel Ferguson b circa 1776.

We're having troubles locating a death record.

Any assistance would be muchly appreciated.

Hi Donna,

As statutory registration in Scotland did not start until 1855, there may be no formal record unless they survived until at least then, assuming they remained in Scotland.

There are some burial records in the OPRs, but they are not on the IGI or ScotlandsPeople, and very few of them have been indexed to date, so records they are more difficult to find.
