James Mckean and Janet (jennet) Murdoch

Hello all....the friendliest genealogy site I visit.

Janet Murdoch Born c1823, possibly in Old Monkland, married James Mckean in 1845.

I believe her to be the daughter of Alexander and Janet Murdoch nee Millar.

Husband James Mckean was born Muirkirk Ayrshire in c1824, and I have census info for both,1841,1851,1861,1871,1881.

My problem :?: is who is HIS family...His death cert as discussed previously in this forum was unhelpful :roll: as his son didnt know much... and therefore didnt provide me with new leads..Poss James' father was also James Mckean, an engine driver , poss Roman catholic, poss Irish!

How can i trace my James birth in Muirhead? i need to solve this last piece of my puzzle

You may have reached the end of the line! The onlyl possibles I can think of.....is there any clues to be gained from a naming pattern of James and Janet's offspring? Any middle names? Are there any other McKeans born in Muirkirk around James age found on later census records that might be his siblings? Have you exmained every record possible for names of witnesses in hopes of finding a relative? If you can't move straight back then your only option is to move laterally!

On the BIVRI the only James McKean born in Ayrshire 1824 +/- 5 years is...

MCKEAN, James
Gender: Male
Birth Date: 15 Aug 1824
Christening Date: 6 Dec 1824
Recorded in: St Quivox and Newton, Ayrshire, Scotland
Father: Peter MCKEAN
Mother: Frances HAMILTON

However, the IGI also only has one, but different parents.

JAMES MCKEAN
Birth: 05 DEC 1824
Christening: 19 DEC 1824 Ayr, Ayr, Scotland

Parents:
Father: HUGH MCKEAN
Mother: JEAN MUIR

McDonald or MacDonald (some couldn't make up their mind!), Bonner, Crichton, McKillop, Campbell, Cameron, Gitrig (+other spellings), Clark, Sloan, Stewart, McCutcheon, Ireland (the surname)
