Help required with handwriting.....

Post by AndrewP » Sat Jun 04, 2005 4:42 pm

Please have a look at certificate #66 and tell me what you can make out of the occupation of the deceased husband, James Parrott. I think he is a carrier of some sort, but cannot make out the word before carrier.

Andrew,

How about Master Mariner?

Look at the M in Margaret.

Thanks Annette. I can now see Master Mariner there. Why could Registrars not have been given typewriters? :P

Andrew,

Looks to me like "Master Carrier". Did such an occupation exist?

Hi Andrew
I think it looks like Master Mariner too. The Ms are very curly which looks strange, but thats what it looks like.

Best wishes
Lesley

Good one, Annette M ... I agree with "Master Mariner."
I have to learn to ignore what others think, and try to interpret what I see, instead. I was concentrating on the 'C' that Andrew suggested, but sometimes the power of suggestion is too strong!

Andrew

Definately Master Mariner, very florid style of handwriting I must say.
