Three missing MacDonald or McDonald sisters

Three of my Great grandfather's sisters have gone AWOL

Parents Donald McDonald and Jane McKillop

Catherine b: 15 Sept 1865 in Tradeston, Glasgow
Jessie b: 9 Mar 1871 in Milton, Glasgow
Jane b: 29 Dec 1879 also in Milton

Catherine is with the family in both 1871 and 1881
Jessie is with them in 1871 but then disappears
Jane is still with her mother now in Blythswood, Glasgow in 1901

I've found the BDM info for two brothers and another sister, but these three girls just don't want to be found.

SP has one Jessie McDonald death in Milton, Glasgow, age 0 in 1872 - possibly accounting for the disappearance of little Jessie?

I cannot understand why she didn't come up in any of my searches, even with appropriate wildcards.

I resumed the search after a break over the weekend to return firstborn and father-in-law to their respective homes.

Catherine did not die in Glasgow between censuses, but I could not find a likely marriage.

Jane did not marry in the early 1900s: I thought of the possibility that she was looking after her mother and was 'released' when she died.

Neither had an obvious death in Glasgow based on the calculated birth year matching the actual year.

It is so difficult with common names that the only recourse is to spend some time in NRH or Park Circus looking at every marriage - not too time-consuming and potentially far cheaper than the SP route, assuming that you have an excuse to get to Scotland.

Sorry that it could not be a more positive outcome.
