Thanks Lesley,

The more of these London Times freebees that are brought to notice the better. That way if one ceases to work there’s a good chance something else will be there to take its place.
The Fingal Library page is here http://www.fingalcoco.ie/Library/OnlineDatabases/

The Times Archives is also available from the TimesOnLine site http://archive.timesonline.co.uk/tol/archive/ It’s free for an introductory period. Registration is required but no details yet re what the charges will be.

It will be better than nothing for those who cannot get access to the Gale version via their library etc. The search and results interfaces appear to be completely different to that provided by Gale.

The London Times via Fingal Library is FREE possibly will be ok for some time unless too many people access it as perhaps the library should have made folks use their library card so possibly best keep it confined to TS list

The Times offer is limited free searches after register for a limited time
being able to search by Births marriage and deaths rather than as before people is a very good feature

the costs are £2.50 for a day pass
£10 for a month
£50 for a year
if you were organised you could do a lot in a month

wish the Scotsman would do this as cheap !

Just a reminder about Lesley’s post in case anyone has lost free access to the London Times.

Hi, just a quick word to say that access to the British Library 19th C Newspaper Collection is again permissable, which includes the Times Online and many other titles such as the Glasgow Herald, the Aberdeen Journal, the Caledonian Mercury and the Belfast Newsletter. You can sign up for a two week test period - I've put the info on how to do this in the thread dedicted to the resource at viewtopic.php?t=11449
